OK, so first a word of caution about this film. The subject matter will make you want to wretch, and if it doesn't you need to get some professional help right away. But it is worth it to hold on until the latter half of the film, puking as necessary along the way. Some people might even find this story hard to believe, but having lived in Southern California myself, sometimes homeless, I know this shit really happens. This film really shows the truth of how a traumatic childhood can absolutely wreck a human life, and there's no going back even when the red carpet is rolled out for you on the yellow brick road back home. There's no starting over, no picking up where you left off - there's no fixing the past, There's only going forward and trying to live with who you are and playing your best game with the hand you've been dealt no matter how shitty your cards are. Great film watched on Netflix Instant Viewing. See it!
