This story is OK, and in the end I understood what the writer was going for. It's one of those stories that doesn't make sense until the end, like Memento. If there's a name for that kind of story please let me know. But whoever directed The Tracey Fragments fucked it all up royally. First of all, this weird style of piecing a bunch of different pictures and moving scenes on the screen together at once is unnecessary, uninteresting and not at all new or experimental. It's been tried before and it never caught on. Why? It's fucking annoying. Period. The eye does not want to process several little scenes at a time. My feeling is that whoever did this did it for a wank, so people would talk about the direction and cinematography instead of the writing and acting. It does nothing but get in the way of the story, alienating the audience and turning an otherwise decent movie into an unwatchable, vanity-motivated art project. I do get it, by the way. It's an easy connection to make: the character is crazy or going crazy and the cinematograpy is going crazy with her. That's a stupid device and it ruined the movie. Enough said. I'll file this movie under "Go Back to Director School Asshole!"
